Miracles for Maisie Banner

Celebrating another year with Maisie!

Maisie, our sweet black Lab mix, is about 12 years old—and 14 months post rescue! Found as a stray and taken in by a local shelter, Maisie underwent surgery to remove a mast cell tumor and waited patiently for her people to come. No one ever did.
FRR stepped in—but not before she contracted a severe respiratory illness. She spent five tough days in hospital isolation, bravely fighting her way back to health.
Over the past year, four amazing fosters have stepped up to nurse her through recovery, showering her with love. Meanwhile, Maisie, who has been diagnosed with Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (CCD), continues to thrive and liver her best senior life. Despite all she’s been through, Maisie remains affectionate, resilient, and full of heart. She still enjoys her sun naps, leisurely sniffaris in the garden, and while the zoomies are behind her, she now skips through her short walks with joy.
Maisie is a beautiful reminder of the power of second chances, the importance of fostering, and the unwavering spirit of senior dogs. We’re SO lucky to know her.

Help Us Support Maisie through her twilight years.

As you might imagine, our miracle gal is facing the kind of changes that our beloved retrievers experience as they age. With monthly expenses just under $400 for Maisie’s veterinary care, we are reaching out to those of you who have a special place in your heart for the seniors.
